About IAVCEI Commission on Hazards and Risk

The IAVCEI Commission on Volcanic Hazards and Risk (CVHR) facilitates discussion and collaboration between academic research and agencies responsible for monitoring volcanoes and for advising on decision-making and policies that reduce the societal impacts of volcanic hazards. The commission focuses on understanding, quantifying, and communicating the hazards, the extent and likelihood of their occurrence, and assessing their proximal and far-field impacts and effects on societies.
